Ethereum marked the tenth anniversary of the launch of the core network

Ethereum is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the launch of the core network. On July 30, 2015, the first block was created, marking the beginning of the largest blockchain platform after bitcoin.

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has issued commemorative NFTs for the anniversary, which can be obtained until July 31. The organization stressed that for 10 years the project has opened new horizons for the Internet, becoming the basis for innovations in finance and digital property management. “Ten years have passed, eternity lies ahead,” EF noted.

More than 100 events around the world are planned as part of the celebration. The Ethereum team invited users to find an event in their city and join the community to support the project in the new decade.

The key event will be a live broadcast on July 30. It will be attended by Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, ConsenSys co-founder Joseph Lubin, lead developer Tim Beyko and other key industry figures. They will discuss the history of the network and its future development.

Last year was an important year for the Ethereum ecosystem. On May 7, a major upgrade of Pectra took place, improving the scalability and security of the network. In July, the developers announced that the next Fusaka hardfork will be deployed in November.

The anniversary emphasizes the importance of Ethereum in the global cryptoeconomy. In 10 years, the network has evolved from an experiment to a fundamental infrastructure for DeFi, NFT and asset tokenization, and new technological challenges and updates are ahead.
