Giggle Academy by CZ Raised $2.4 Million in Donations in the First Day

On September 21, 2025, the educational project Giggle Academy, created by former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), announced the launch of a fundraising campaign. Within a day, the platform’s wallet balance exceeded $2.4 million.

“As a free (non-profit) educational platform, it’s difficult for us to motivate participants. Donations will be used to address this issue and expand our reach. All donations are made in cryptocurrency, with full transparency. No fiat currencies. Education remains free,” noted CZ.

Giggle Academy was announced in March 2024 as a free educational ecosystem where lessons are presented in a game-like format. Currently, materials up to Level 4, designed for preschoolers, are available to users, but the program is expected to cover all grades up to 12 in the future.

According to the team’s statement, donations will be directed towards product development, author rewards, and further ecosystem expansion. At the time of writing, the wallet balance reached $2.47 million in crypto assets.

A significant portion of the funds was provided by the launch of the meme coin GIGGLE, whose built-in mechanism automatically allocates part of the fees to the project. Its capitalization is about $23.2 million.

Later, Zhao confirmed that GIGGLE was indeed the main source of income. He added that it made him look at meme coins from a different perspective.

At the same time, CZ emphasized that Giggle Academy itself did not issue tokens and does not plan to do so:

“I don’t want to complicate the free educational platform with tokenomics. I am confident that in 5–10 years, the project will be able to exist thanks to donations from graduates who got jobs through the training and the general public,” he stated.
