The UK and the US Sign a ‘Technological Prosperity’ Agreement with $42 Billion Investments

The UK and the US have signed a ‘Technological Prosperity Agreement’ covering cooperation in artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and nuclear energy. As reported by Reuters, ahead of US President Donald Trump’s second state visit to London, major American corporations announced significant investments in the British economy.

According to the agreements, leading US tech companies have pledged to invest around $42 billion in the UK. Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that this agreement could change the lives of millions of people on both sides of the Atlantic and emphasized that London aims to become an investment hub by offering more flexible regulation compared to the European Union.

Key roles will be played by projects from Microsoft, Google, and Nvidia. Microsoft will invest $30 billion in expanding cloud infrastructure and building a supercomputer in Luton. Nvidia will deploy 120,000 GPUs, including up to 60,000 Grace Blackwell Ultra chips, in partnership with the British company Nscale as part of the Stargate project. Google will allocate $6.8 billion for building a data center in Waltham Cross and supporting research by its DeepMind division.

Other companies have also confirmed their participation: CoreWeave announced investments of $3.4 billion in data centers, while Salesforce, Scale AI, BlackRock, Oracle, and AWS announced projects with investments ranging from hundreds of millions to several billion dollars.

According to Nvidia representative David Hogan, these steps will allow the UK to become not only a consumer but also a producer of advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence.

Experts note that the partnership strengthens London’s position as an international innovation center, and for Washington, it is an opportunity to solidify a strategic alliance in high-tech sectors. Moreover, the agreement underscores the interest of both countries in strengthening energy and digital security.
