Ethereum tops $3,000 amid record ETF inflows from BlackRock

Ethereum rose above $3,000 for the first time since February, reacting to record inflows into ETFs based on the second most capitalized cryptocurrency. Over the day, the asset rose by 7.5%, its capitalization reached $360 billion, according to data from CoinGecko.

The largest contribution to the daily inflow was provided by BlackRock’s ETHA fund, which invested $300 million. The total volume of inflows into Ethereum-ETFs for the day amounted to $383 million – the second result since the launch of spot funds in July 2024. The historical high was recorded on December 5 ($428.5 million). Total inflows into the ETH-ETF since the launch exceeded $5 billion, and assets under management reached $12.5 billion, which is 3.67% of Ethereum’s market capitalization.

The price was further supported by news of SharpLink Gaming’s $25.7m purchase of 10,000 ETH. The funds were transferred directly to the Ethereum Foundation, highlighting the growing participation of institutional players. In June, the firm shifted strategy and began actively accumulating ETH after raising $425 million, including from Consensys. At the same time, Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin joined SharpLink’s board of directors.

The observed growth occurs against the background of the general strengthening of the crypto market. Since the April low of $1385, the price of ether has grown by 115%. Market participants attribute the steady trend to growing institutional involvement, improved liquidity and active development of solutions using zero-disclosure evidence.
