Israeli Authorities Announce 187 Crypto Addresses Linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps
The Israeli National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing (NBCTF) has published a list of 187 cryptocurrency addresses that it claims are linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Authorities claim that a total of approximately $1.5 billion in Tether (USDT) has passed through these wallets. The NBCTF emphasized:
“Crypto assets from these wallets should be confiscated.”
Elliptic, a company specializing in blockchain analytics, confirmed that all mentioned addresses indeed received significant amounts in USDT. However, experts noted that their connection to the IRGC cannot be considered absolutely proven:
“Some of them may belong to cryptocurrency services and be part of wallet infrastructure that serves many clients.”
Elliptic also reminded that the possible confiscation of assets is explained by the nature of USDT — a stablecoin issued by Tether. The issuer has repeatedly cooperated with law enforcement agencies, freezing funds associated with criminal or suspicious activity.
