Predatory Sparrow hackers attacked Iran’s Sepah Bank

Pro-Israeli hacktivist group Predatory Sparrow has claimed responsibility for a massive cyberattack on Iran’s Sepah Bank. In a statement posted on X, the group said it destroyed critical data related to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
According to the hackers, the bank was used to circumvent sanctions and finance Iran’s missile and nuclear programs. Iran International confirms the banking disruptions in the country, pointing to the closure of branches and the inability of customers to access accounts.
Media published images of ATMs with error messages. However, TechCrunch was unable to confirm the hack, as the bank’s Iranian branches did not respond to requests and messages to mailing addresses were returned with a delivery error.
Predatory Sparrow has previously claimed responsibility for successful cyberattacks on Iranian steel mills and fuel infrastructure. The group is considered one of the most effective hacktivists operating against Iran.
The new attack came amid escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, including airstrikes on military targets. Experts believe that Predatory Sparrow’s actions are aligned with Israel’s common interests, although an official link has not been confirmed.
