Tether Appoints Benjamin Habbel as Chief Business Officer

Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin USDT, announced the appointment of Benjamin Habbel as Chief Business Officer (CBO). His responsibilities will include organizational growth, financial and investment management, and expanding the company’s portfolio.

According to the statement, Habbel has extensive experience at the intersection of technology and finance. As CEO of Limestone Capital, he built an investment platform with assets exceeding $1 billion and a team of over 500 employees. Previously, he held key positions at Google, where he was involved in scaling Android and Google Maps, as well as launching search products.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino noted:

“Tether is not just a stablecoin issuer, it is The Stable Company. We are building sustainable infrastructure and promoting financial independence. With Benjamin’s leadership and experience, we will accelerate Tether’s development into a global leader capable of competing with traditional giants.”

In his new role, Habbel will also oversee interactions with Tether’s portfolio companies in areas such as artificial intelligence, telecommunications, bitcoin mining, energy, cloud technologies, digital assets, real estate, and neurotechnology. This underscores Tether’s strategic course towards building long-term infrastructure for the digital economy.
