Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Economy launches Sandbox for AI and blockchain

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has announced the launch of the Sandbox experimental platform for testing solutions in the field of artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. The ministry announced this in its official Telegram channel. The program became the first state space where startups can go from an idea to a scalable business with an individual trajectory.
Sandbox participants will have access to consultations from lawyers, analysts and tech experts. The project is aimed at developing the domestic digital ecosystem, strengthening the economy and developing flexible legislation in the field of AI and Web3 based on practice. The platform will also become a tool for interaction between the government and technology entrepreneurs.
Sandbox will operate until the end of 2026 in a pilot format on the basis of the Ukrainian Startup Fund. Following the results of the experiment, the Ministry plans to assess the effectiveness of the approach and create a permanent mechanism to support innovative projects.
The context for the launch was the challenges of digital asset regulation. In May, Trustee Plus stopped registering users from Ukraine, citing legal uncertainty. And earlier, the Office of President Zelensky blocked the consideration of the law on the crypto market.
