Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has introduced the national AI assistant Diia.AI — the first service in the world that allows citizens to access government services through an AI-powered chat.

Currently, the feature is available in beta on the Diia portal. Users can log in, type a request, and receive step-by-step instructions. At this stage, it can, for example, provide income certificates, with more services to be added in the future.

Developers note that the model is continuously trained based on user feedback, which helps improve the accuracy and efficiency of responses.

Similar projects exist in Estonia, Singapore, and the UK, but Ukraine is the first to fully integrate such an AI service directly into a government portal.

The project is supported by UK DIGIT, the Eurasia Foundation, and the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP program.
