Grok AI gives answers to users based on Elon Musk’s views

Grok 4, an AI model developed by xAI, has begun issuing responses centered around the political and social views of Elon Musk. According to TechCrunch, the chatbot regularly refers to the xAI founder’s posts on social network X when forming its own judgments on sensitive issues.

Observations by users and journalists indicate that Grok, when discussing topics like U.S. immigration law, the conflict in Gaza, or reproductive rights, directly “seeks Musk’s opinion” and ends up voicing conclusions that coincide with it. The chains of reasoning generated by the AI to explain its answers suggest that the entrepreneur’s views may be embedded in the model’s decision-making logic.

Initially, Ilon Musk stated that Grok’s ultimate goal was to create “the most truth-driven AI possible.” However, he also later noted that current models are allegedly trained on “garbage data” and promised to “rewrite all human knowledge” for the next version of the chatbot. AI specialist Gary Marcus compared this approach to a “real-time dystopia.”

TechCrunch journalists note that while Grok often provides balanced answers and considers alternative viewpoints, the final position increasingly reflects Musk’s personal views. The xAI acknowledged that some of the chatbot’s postings were inappropriate and reported working to correct the model’s behavior.
